Common Soft Fault Diagnosis of Gas Water Heater
A: Water heaters use water pressure to open gas channels. It is normal for gas water heaters to fail to ignite when the water pressure is below 0.02 Mpa.
B: Dripping water from the drainage valve is due to the high water supply pressure. The drainage valve serves as a protective measure, and it is normal to discharge water and reduce pressure to protect the gas water heater.
C: Simultaneously supplying hot water to several locations will reduce the amount of hot water and even make it difficult to supply hot water.
D: During use, the water heater automatically shuts off and the indicator light flashes. You have been using it continuously for 20 minutes, indicating that the timed shutdown safety device is in effect. At this time, if you confirm that the space where the water heater is installed has good ventilation, you can restart the water heater.
E: The ignition controller is equipped with low voltage protection. When the dry battery voltage is less than 2.1V, it is normal that it cannot ignite. Quality inspection of repaired gas water heater:
After repairing a gas water heater, a safety inspection must be conducted on the water heater being repaired.
A: There should be no air leakage from the gas inlet to the burner flame hole (inspected with a flame gun).
B: The pressure resistance of the waterway system (from the inlet to the hot water inlet) should be no leakage or deformation for 1 minute under a water pressure of not less than 1.0 Mpa.
C: The action of the water gas linkage control valve device should be flexible and reliable, and the startup water pressure should be normal (1. For large water volume startup, it should start normally under a water pressure of 0.035Mpa. 2. For small water volume startup, it should start normally under a water pressure of 0.030Mpa).
D: After igniting a fire hole, the flame should spread throughout all fire holes within 2 seconds without any explosion, and the flame should be clear, uniform, and not produce black smoke, backfire, flameout, or hinder the use of the flame.
E: The smoke exhaust system does not allow smoke to be discharged from other places except for the smoke exhaust outlet.
F: Those equipped with safety devices should have the function of 20 minute timed anti dry burning and automatic protection against accidental flameout.
Common troubleshooting of gas water heaters
1、 Fault phenomenon: stalling during use
Reason for malfunction:
A: The gas valves are not fully opened. (Solution: Open all gas valves.)
B: The gas pressure is inappropriate and too low. [Solution: Keep turning on and off the hot water control valve continuously until it catches fire. (Note: After turning off the hot water control valve, wait for at least 5 seconds before turning it back on.) Maintenance personnel should check the pressure reducing valve.]
C: The water pressure of the cold water supply is too low. (Solution: Maintenance personnel check the water pressure. If the startup water pressure is greater than 0.035MP and this situation persists, adjust the water control screw under the gas valve body to reduce the water output slightly.)
D: The safety device is activated. (Handling method: Please refer to the handling method when the safety device is activated.)
E: The heat exchanger is blocked. (Solution: Maintenance personnel clean the carbon deposits inside the heat exchanger.)
F: The water controller is malfunctioning. (Handling method: Maintenance personnel handle it.)
G: The pulse generator has malfunctioned. (Solution: Maintenance personnel replace the pulse generator.)
H: The lead wire is loose. (Solution: Connect the loose leads correctly.)
I: Electromagnetic valve malfunction. (Solution: Maintenance personnel check.)
J: Flame probe malfunction. (Solution: Maintenance personnel check.)
